2013 is finally coming to an end. To be honest, I’m not sure how I feel about it. I’m neither happy or sad. I’m sure of one thing though, the memories made will never be forgotten.
Here are the highlights of my year. Travel highlights to be exact since travelling is the only fulfilling thing that I get to do in my life.
March 2013 – Phuket, Phi Phi Islands, Phanga Bay (Thailand)
Ticking this one off my bucket list. It was back in college that I first thought about going to Phuket. Last year, on a whim, my friends and I bought tickets to go here and the rest was history. Oh, I almost didn’t make it here since I got allergies 3 weeks before the trip!!! The allergy was pretty serious since the doctor told me it was an auto-immune disease. Never heard of it back then but just the name made me quiver in terror. Thankfully, I got better and the allergy was out of my system after a few months. As for the trip, it could’ve been better if we got to stay longer. Watch out Thailand, I’ll definitely be back! Maybe I’ll take a trip to Koh Samui next time 😉
May 2013 – Ilocos, Philippines
My fourth time here but this is the first with the whole family. Ilocos is my favorite place in the Philippines. They have everything from rolling hills, beaches, great food and history. This trip is quite unforgettable too since I got stomach flu after the trip. It was probably due to eating a lot of bagnet . Bagnet is sundried pork which is then boiled and then deep fried until crisp. Just thinking about it makes me hungry.
October 2013 – South Korea
Ahhhh, my favorite trip of course. Not my first time but still the runaway winner. There is something about this place that makes me want to comeback and hopefully I can.
December 2013 – El Nido, Palawan (Philippines)
The trip that capped off the year. My first time in El Nido and it was magnificent. Another unforgettable trip since I got a one inch gash on the sole of my right foot during this trip. It did hurt but I still enjoyed the trip nonetheless. Hopefully, I already know how to swim properly and won’t need a life jacket the next time I come here (or any other beach for that matter)
Cheers to the New Year and to more travel destinations in 2014!
Note: Sorry about my photography skills, I’m not quite creative (?) and I’m only using a point and shoot camera 😀
